A Table Reveal

Here it is!

This has to be one of the "roughest" pieces I have ever purchased. In need of so much love.

We dug through an old utility trailer to literally unearth this piece. It had peeling veneer and didn't look like much at all.

BUT, we saw the potential. Isn't that what we girls do???

I had a wonderful "How do you like me now?" moment today at the store.

I set her up front and center.

I put this great old birdcage on top. As for the birdcage, my dear husband brought it home for me a few weeks back. I must tell you, it was covered with white feathers and bird poop.

I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more. Then it got a fresh coat of paint...black for the inside part and cream for the outside. I added my flame less cancels with the mini Indian corn inside. Love the way it looks!

Here's what she looked like a couple days ago. My Dad helped me remove the rest of the veneer and we sanded it beautifully.

She got a nice coat of black semi-gloss paint, a little distressing, and two coats of the Minwax Wipe On Poly (love that stuff).

I also finished a couple of these chairs. They were in great shape to begin with.

I recover them with burlap and used one of my new feed sack stencils.

They also got a coat of black paint and some sublet distressing to reveal the wonderful warm red tones of the mahogany underneath.

I brought in one of my little windows today too...sweet...

How about these great tins that my Mom's lifelong friend "donated" to my space? Don't the colors just work beautifully with all that's going on???

Thanks so much Norma for all the fun goodies.

Had to add a few dried gourds to the tablescape...

How absolutely stunning is this table base with it's curvy legs???

Isn't this going to make the most wonderful console table in someone's home?

Sigh....

Yep, the space definitely has it's "autumn on".

I was so happy with he way everything looked when I left today.

The store is doing so well....there were so many customers coming and going today. I am so proud of the shop owner. She is doing a fabulous job.

I'm so glad our paths crossed.

Good to tough base with you all today. I hope your weather is as beautiful as ours is here on the Northwest. Sunny, crisp, clear and highs around 60 degress.

Oh yes, this is DEFINITELY my favorite time of year.
