Inspired In Seattle

194
Hello!
I’m finally getting a chance to do a quick post….
Don’t the days just fly by so quickly?  No one really warns you about how fast time is going to go by as you get older.
I want to embrace each and every day and continue to do the things I love.
I was lucky enough to spend three glorious days in Seattle last week.  I met a very dear friend there for some great sightseeing, shopping, and dining out.
We were fortunate to have some fabulously clear weather and very little rain (unusual in February in Seattle).
We went to Jazz Alley and listened to a wonderful Latin Jazz band .  We dined at Elliott’s Oyster House on the waterfront.  If you’ve never been there—you’ve just gotta go!  Great view, impeccable service and out of this world seafood.
171170177When I returned from my trip, I felt energized and ready to get back to work.  Lucky for me, my BFFL Diane arrived for a long visit.
We went into “full project mode” on Thursday and are so happy to be back together and working side by side to create pretty things.
This dresser has been sitting in the store for months now.  It’s such a pretty piece and structurally sound.
I loaded it into the van several weeks ago.  I decided I wanted to do something DIFFERENT with it.

Here’s the DIFFERENT look we decided on…

Feeling so inspired by my trip to Seattle and the places I was able to visit….it became a really fun Seattle
“Subway Sign” dresser.
We used Annie Sloan’s chalk paint in Old White and Abbusson Blue.

There’s a lot more project on the “TO DO” list for the next few weeks….I’ll be sure to share them with you all.
Here’s to a new found energy and creative flow as we head into Spring

  5. It's so cute, I love it! Would you mind telling me what you used for the letters? I've been planning on make some canvas subway art signs and I'm not sure what to use for the letters yet.

  6. I love all the writing on the cabinet. The slogans are really clever. I love how people use words to create art on furniture. It's nice to see something different from the usual normal solid colors that can painted on it.
