I’m back with more guest house updates.
We decided a really comfortable chair in place of a small round dining table in this space would be better.
I found this great vintage off white leather chair at the consignment store for a great price. It’s very well-made and will most likely be re-upholstered in the future with vintage French grain sacks.
The library card file was something I found last spring at a friend’s shop. He had it for sale and it’s been on my mind ever since.
Lucky for me, it hadn’t sold and I was able to pick it up and add it to the guest house. I numbered the drawers 1 – 20 and they will be used to store all my “this and that’s” for dress form designing.
I made the fun “Don’t Hesitate To Call” sign above the card file. I wanted to bring in a bit of the chartreuse green from the new drapery panels.
This piano bench had been in the “to do” pile for a few months. It makes a perfect side table for the new chair. I just painted it Old White and added some fun details with a Paris window silhouette and a few corner flourishes
The top lifts up and provides much needed book and magazine storage.
The new floor lamp is an estate sale find. It’s an old photographer’s lamp that I just spray painted with a hammered oil rubbed bronze finish.
Don’t pass these up if you run across them…they are a great “look for less” alternative to the industrial lighting we are seeing in all the high-end catalogs.
I’m so glad I added this unique card file with it’s great black iron legs to my guest house. You just don’t see these things available for sale very often…
Stay tuned for a few more updates to this space…
Cori
