A Little Sunshine On A Rainy Day

We brought a few new pieces to the store today.

They were bright and "sunshiney".

I wish I had some before shots of these two pieces, but somehow I missed that part. You know how it is--we try so hard to get the ugly "before", but sometimes forget.

The white table above started as a very plain mid-century modern type coffee table. It was picked up at a local thrift store a few months ago.

We added some old wheels to the bottom, painted it cream, and distressed it quite a bit.

Changed the little table completely.

We found that old roaster pan yesterday. I filled it with a whole bunch of dollar store blooms and made it feel like a little early spring.

OK...now for the next table.

Wish I could describe what this looked like before. It was sort of "speckled" with some kind of paint treatment.

Not a pretty picture.

We sanded it down, stained the top walnut, and gave the body a nice soft yellow.

It was distressed.
We let some of the original green paint to show through.

We added some fun brown porcelain knobs and some great stripe fabric to the drawers.

Fun!

What do you think?

This is the kind of thing that lifts the spirits during the sometimes gray days of January and any post-holiday blues...
