Returning From Callifornia

I had a wonderful time in California. Seeing my family and friends was wonderful. Spending time with my son and his girlfriend on his 21st birthday weekend was a joy.
When you live far away from your loved ones, you never take a minute with them for granted. I felt completely "in the moment" while I was together with the people who really matter.
Thank you to my Mom who brought my brothers and their families to the table for a yummy lunch on Saturday.

Now that I am back home, my "to-do" list is in full swing. Diane is here for a few weeks and we have many projects to work on. I want to get the retail space and my house ready for autumn.

We picked up a few pumpkins and gourds at the fruit stand down the road yesterday. Today we will completely rearrange the space and make room for some new furniture pieces we are refinishing in the garage now.

Let's face it--there's no place like home and it feels great to be back. I was happy to see that my husband hung the window we painted. And, yes Starview Cafe is definitely OPEN : )
I just love the way this looks. I am on the hunt for some more windows and actaully placed a "wanted" ad on craigslist to see if I can stock up some more for signs.

I've missed you all and look forward to catching up with your goings on. I was able to check some of my favorite blogs on my Droid phone while traveling. You creative woman continue to AMAZE me!

One more thing to share before I get busy this morning. My Mom bought me a Kindle. It has transformed my life. I enjoy reading again with the larger fonts available with the Kindle. I'm almost half way through "The Help" and enjoying every page of it.

Mom - this is one of the best gifts you have ever given me.

Hope you all have a fabulous hump day today.

I will be updating you on the projects for the week and the new look for my little space.

Again....I've missed you and it feels GREAT to be back.
