My cottage isn't a beach cottage, it's really a wine country cottage.
BUT, ever since I knew we were going to build a small one bedroom guest cottage on our property, I knew I wanted to do it in neutrals with a little bit of blue.
I had a table next to the sofa that I needed to "steal" for my master bedroom. I've had it for years and it was just the right size to go next to my reupholstered vintage sofa (not back from the upholsterer yet).
So...I had found this table at a yard sale for $5.00. I ended up putting a "wash" of blue paint on it. I wanted the honey color of the wood to show through a bit (much more cottage-y that way).
I also found this lamp (and it's partner) at a yard sale for $5.0 0 each.
Ok...I did add the drum shade (from WalMart-14.99) and I think it really makes this corner in the cottage "new" and fun.

I was talking to a gal on the phone the other day.
I'm creating a custom dress form for her. We discussed creativity. We talking about the need to do a little something creative every day. It makes us happy. It enhances our lives.
This is a sneak peek at an old ceiling light fixture I found out at a yard sale. I gave it a little bit of off-white paint today.
I have an idea for this piece. Stay tuned for the finished project.

Nice little table with a pop of blue. I agree-we each need a little creativity every day. It's funny how creativity can lessen exhaustion. Can't wait to see your finished light fixture!
ReplyDeleteNice corner!
ReplyDeleteNow the light fixture is an interesting piece.
