Birds!
As far back as I can remember I have loved birds...their nests, their eggs, their feathers...all of it!
Last year I started making birds out of paper clay. I just can't explain how much pleasure I get from crafting these little guys.
Here's my latest little feathered friends.
I decided they were important enough to wear crowns of glory.

They seem so right "at home" nestled" on top of a baking tin I got on ebay and painted with chocolate brown paint (another one of my favorite things, I might add).
The glitter eggs are from the Dollar Store, as well as the light aqua ribbon.
I'm just loving this shade of blue right now....can you tell?

Aren't those little guys so sweet. You are pretty talented.
ReplyDeleteThose are so sweet, I can't believe you made them. I love the blue color and don't you just love the dollar store?
ReplyDeleteHi Cori...
ReplyDeleteMy friend, it's so great having you join in with the fun of Sunday Favorites again!!! How have you been, my friend? I hope that my note finds you and your family well!
This is just the sweetest post...so glad that you shared it with us for Sunday Favorites! Ohhh my goodness...I love, love, LOVE your paper clay birds!!! I would love to know how to do that? Have you ever done a tutorial about it? They are just adorable and I love how you used that pretty tin baking tin for their little nest...what a GRAND idea! I love all sweet birds...you should see all the birds at my house! Hehe! I just know that my honey is going to tell me one of these days...when I pick up another sweet bird to buy and bring home...that we have enough! Hehe! I also love that soft aqua color...sooo pretty! Well my friend, you definitely got my creative wheels turning now...I'm going to have to look for a baking tin like that! I think that's just too cute!!! Thank you so much for sharing your sweet little birds with us!!! Ohhh...and that is a beautiful vignette!!!
Have a super Sunday, my friend!

Hi Chari j, Lori and Alicia!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comments on my little guys. I did take a tutorial on some paper clay items from Dawn at The Feathered Nest last year. Since then, I've been thinking about things I could make with this great medium. I found a simple bird mold on ebay to make these cuties and then added some more feather detail. It is a wonderful thing to work with endearing little creatures. The possibilities are endless. I tried a crackle paint technique on them, but it didn't show up too well in the photos.
I'm so happy to be back here with you on Sunday Favorites. Hope your day is going wonderfully.
